Message I didn't doubt his approach - I'm impressed to see he did the calculations rather than just throwing a dart at a wall o' numbers like many people do. But it seemed to me that he was saying 1000rwhp cannot be done below 8000rpm (and presenting the formulas as "proof"), and that's what I took issue with. We agree now that it's possible, but the extra RPM makes it easier (given that HP = tq*rpm/5252).

"I think most 1000+hp Z's violate these assumptions by using nitrous."

That crossed my mind, but I wasn't sure which ones did and didn't, hence my lack of referencing any.

By the way, I always meant to ask you, which Purdue campus did you attend? I've been kicking around the idea of a PhD and obviously Purdue would be a school worth considering.

"When you say this, will you be surprised if your arguments seem to move about instead of staying put? And will you accuse me of being Daedalus who makes them move, though you are yourself much more skillful than Daedalus and make them go around in a circle? Or do you not realize that our argument has moved around and come again to the same place? [...] Or do you not remember?" - Socrates
